Methods of Seed Germination:
Materials Required:
1. Hydrogen Peroxide (available in any pharmacy. Germination will get good response
2. Water bottle (500 ml should be enough)
3. Tissue paper
4. Air tight transparent box
Procedure:
1. First of all, the tissue should be spread evenly in an air tight box.
2. Mix well 10 ml or one cork of hydrogen peroxide with 500 ml of water.
3. Then wet the box tissue with the mixed water. Remember that if too much water accumulates in the box, the seeds will rot.
4. Then place the desired seeds (flowers/fruits/vegetables) on the wet tissue of the box.
5. Cover the seed with another tissue paper
6. Then seal the mouth of the air tight box well.
7. Then leave the box in a light and airy place.
8. The seeds will start germinating within 3/4 days
9. After germination of the seeds let it be planted in the desired tub or in the ground.
Here's what you need to know about this type of germination:
1. Germination will take place overnight if the seeds are good. If the seeds are a little old, it takes 4-5 days for germination
2. During these 4-5 days the seed box should be kept under the lamp light for 24 hours.
3. Don't fidgety open the seed box over and over. It inhibits germination. However, since the box is transparent, check whether the roots have come out from outside the box.
4. When buying hydrogen peroxide from the pharmacy, ask for the solution of hydrogen peroxide for hospital dressing.
5. As soon as the roots emerge well (see picture) it should be buried in the soil otherwise the seeds will be wasted.
6. You can germinate many seeds at once in a large air tight transparent box
7. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap before handling the seeds each time. In this the seeds are not easily infected with any germs.
